I was born in Omaha, Nebraska four days before Fellini died. I received a BFA in Acting from Nebraska Wesleyan University, has a Certificate in Collaborative Filmmaking from Maine Media Workshops + College, and an MFA in Visual Studies from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. My work has been screened nationally and internationally at festivals like Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival, Florida Film Festival, and Small File Media Festival. I am currently an Instructor at F.I.R.S.T. Institute.
My moving images examine the self, hauntology, ecology, and economics through an aesthetic focus on degraded media, long takes, and superimposed text. These themes are explored via DIY methods, image manipulation, and found digital materials culminating in an hypnagogic atmosphere. Iām influenced by Zygmunt Bauman's liquid modernity, slow cinema, vaporwave, and the theatre of the absurd. I use self-reference to bring humor and bittersweetness to the forefront.
